Half Infinity stands alongside Almost Infinity within the Cannstatter Wasen Motion Series — and is, like its counterpart, a one-of-a-kind work by Maison Maas.
The ride “Infinity” once again serves as the point of departure. Yet unlike Almost Infinity, the rotating light cone does not resolve into a near-complete circle. It remains open — forming a precise half-arc suspended in motion.
What appears as continuous rotation is revealed as a defined geometric segment. Through long-exposure photography, movement is distilled into structure. Rotation becomes line. Speed becomes clarity.
The title reframes the idea of infinity through reduction. Where Almost Infinity approaches closure, Half Infinity embraces incompleteness — a deliberate shift from circle to segment.
